The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel, will open in a 135-year-old historic building in Lower Manhattan next month.

The 287-room hotel will feature a restaurant helmed by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio. The property, which is located less than two blocks from the Manhattan terminus of the Brooklyn Bridge, features a nine-story Victorian atrium topped by a pyramidal skylight.

The Beekman soon to open in New York

The building, formerly known as Temple Court, was one of Manhattan’s early high-rises when it was built in 1881.

The Beekman is part Signature Travel Network’s “FIRST” hotel sales and marketing program, which drives sales and generates awareness before the opening of select properties.

“I don’t think there’s a  comparable building in Manhattan. The Beekman is kind of sui generis and is in a class all by itself,” said Signature Travel Network executive vice president Ignacio Maza.
