The world’s first Radisson Red hotel has opened in
Brussels.
Carlson Rezidor, which announced the brand in February
2014, calls Radisson Red a “lifestyle select” brand that combines modernist
design and a technology emphasis with select-service operations.
The brand features free WiFi and rooms with 55-inch
televisions, picnic tables and refrigerators as well as keyless entry access
via smartphone apps.
Carlson Rezidor said two years ago that it planned to
have as many as 60 Radisson Red hotels in operation by the end of the decade.
The name is a play off of Carlson Rezidor’s Radisson Blu upper-upscale brand.
The 149-room hotel in Brussels is within walking
distance of the European Parliament.
