Universal Orlando Resort's theme parks and CityWalk will close Wednesday and Thursday due to the threat of Hurricane Ian. Its hotels, at full capacity, remain open.

Universal anticipates reopening on Friday "as conditions permit."

Halloween Horror Nights, a separately ticketed event at Universal Studios Florida, was also canceled for Wednesday and Thursday. Like the parks and CityWalk, Universal anticipates Friday's event will be held, conditions permitting.

"Our hotels are currently at full capacity and will remain operational as they focus on taking care of our guests," the statement said.
