Waldorf Astoria has opened its first property in the
Maldives, the all-villa Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.
Located roughly 30 minutes from Male International Airport
by boat, the property spans three interconnected islands, including the
Ithaafushi Private Island, and has 122 beach, reef and overwater villas. All villas
have a private infinity pool and offer access to the beach or a deck.
Among the resort's most notable accommodations are two
Stella Maris Ocean Villas, which feature direct ocean access and
floor-to-ceiling windows, and the Ithaafushi Private Island units, which
include a four-bedroom residence, three-bedroom beach villa and a two-bedroom
overwater villa.
Guests staying on the Ithaafushi Private Island get a
dedicated chef and personal concierge, an overwater spa and gym, five swimming
pools and an entertainment center.
Both the Stella Maris Ocean Villas and the Ithaafushi
Private Island accommodations can only be reached via boat.
The property offers a total of 11 dining venues, including
The Ledge, a barbecue grill concept spearheaded by Michelin-starred chef Dave
Pynt. Additional culinary highlights include The Rock, which specializes in
wine-centric dining experiences; Middle Eastern eatery Yasmeen; and Glow, a
garden-to-table restaurant showcasing ingredients sourced from the resort's
on-island garden.
Other amenities available to all guests at the Waldorf
Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi are a 40-meter Mirror Pool, fitness center, spa,
water sport and PADI dive center, and the Waldorf Astoria Young Discovery Park
and Lagoon Pool area for kids.
