InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) said the world’s biggest Holiday Inn is scheduled to open in Moscow in 2014.
IHG and Crocus Group have signed a deal to build a 1,000-room hotel in Crocus City, in the developing Krasnogorsk area of Moscow.
IHG said the hotel would have 27,000 square feet of meeting space, three restaurants and a health club.
Crocus City is a 220-acre retail and leisure complex with entertainment venues, exhibition pavilions, a shopping center and a helipad.
IHG has seven hotels open in Russia (six Holiday Inns and a Crowne Plaza). The company has 13 hotels in the pipeline for Russia (seven Holiday Inns, three Crowne Plazas, two Staybridge Suites and an InterContinental).
Currently, the biggest Holiday Inn is the Holiday Inn Chengdu Century City in China with 965 rooms. The Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum has 910 rooms.
