JetBlue Vacations has enabled customers to receive a suggested
itinerary -- including sites, activities and restaurants -- based on their
preferences, with the help Utrip's artificial intelligence-based trip builder.
To start planning, travelers go to JetBlue Vacations' site and
enter their destination and travel dates in the Utrip portal. They then rate
their preferences in 16 categories on a sliding scale to create a profile.
Categories include budget, cuisine, art, culture and shopping.
Utrip's artificial intelligence algorithm puts together a
suggested daily itinerary with times and maps of the recommended hotel, sites,
activities and restaurants.
The Utrip partnership is part of a larger initiative at
JetBlue to invest in or partner with tech startups. Utrip was identified as a
partner by JetBlue Technology Ventures, a subsidiary of JetBlue.
JetBlue Vacations offers packages to nearly 100 destinations
in the U.S., Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Members
of JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty program receive six points per eligible dollar
when booking a JetBlue Vacations package and can pay using a combination of
cash and TrueBlue points.
