Adventure tour operator Mountain Travel Sobek is launching a
series of five wellness trips with a focus on combining adventure with yoga,
relaxation and mindfulness.
The five itineraries are in Morocco, Bali, Mexico's Baja
California, Italy's Dolomites and Laos/Cambodia.
The trips combine challenging physical excursions such as
hikes, with immersive cultural experiences and revitalizing yoga sessions and
soothing spa time.
The first trip will be this November, a six-day Baja
Wellness Retreat in conjunction with spa company Canyon Ranch. Guests will stay
at the Los Colibris Casitas in Todos Santos, Mexico, before cruising to Isla
Espiritu Santo, where they will stay in well-appointed tents at Camp Cecil. The
itinerary includes yoga classes, surfing in Los Cerritos, swimming in the Sea
of Cortez and opportunities for stand-up paddle boarding, bird watching, and
hikes to lagoons and desert beaches. Prices start at $4,995 per person.
News of the wellness program comes one week after Mountain
Travel Sobek announced a partnership with The Outbound Collective, an online
adventure travel platform and app.
Users search The Outbound for hikes, campsites, after-work
runs, waterfalls, swimming holes and vistas. Content is crowd-sourced from the
platform's community of outdoor enthusiasts and travelers.
Under the partnership, influencers from The Outbound will
participate in Mountain Travel Sobek adventures. Cobranded outings and events
will be organized, and Mountain Travel Sobek's adventure travel content will be
featured across The Outbound's various channels.
Mountain Travel Sobek will also take part in The Outbound's
Pursuit Series events by providing expertise on international adventure travel
to The Outbound community through blog posts, trip introductions, gear kits and
guide profiles.
