Americans are planning to be on the move this summer, with travel up 16% compared to last year, according to Allianz Partners.

The U.S. itself will benefit from much of that travel, with nearly 75% of travelers headed to domestic destinations (Orlando, Seattle and Honolulu were the top three spots).

Internationally, Mexico remains popular. Cancun and San Jose del Cabo are the top two destinations, in that order, followed by Aruba.

Allianz's data comes from an analysis of more than 1,175,000 flight itineraries. It looked for trips between five and eight days in length to determine the most popular summer destinations.

Orlando and Cancun have been the top destinations, domestically and internationally, for the past six years.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic destinations after Orlando, Seattle and Honolulu were Kahului, Hawaii; Boston; New York; Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Portland, Ore.; and Denver.

Internationally after Cancun, San Jose del Cabo and Aruba, the top destinations were Montego Bay, Jamaica; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Nassau, Bahamas; Providenciales Island, Turks and Caicos; Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Liberia, Costa Rica.
