After a platform upgrade, travel agents can now identify commissionable rates using the
hotel shopping service TripBam.
Prior to the upgrade, the TripBam platform only ferreted out hotel rooms by cost.
“It just took some agencies to tell us how important this was to
our corporate clients,” TripBam CEO Steve Reynolds told Travel Weekly.
Though 80 to 85 percent of the company's business relates to
corporate travel, agencies also use TripBam for their leisure clients.
The product monitors hotel deals after a room has been booked,
allowing agents to see if a less expensive room is subsequently offered at the
same hotel or a similar hotel.
TripBam rolled out the upgrade after testing it with
Balboa Travel in San Diego.
