WASHINGTON -- The Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP), which provides
a travel insurance program to all travel agents holding an
International Airlines Travel Agent Network (Iatan) card, announced
enhancements to the product.
Agents now have an automatic $35,000 in free travel accident
coverage, up from $25,000, plus the option to upgrade that coverage
at discounted rates when they renew their Iatan accounts.
Under a contract with Iatan, UATP provides automatic membership
for agents in the UATP Insider's Club, which provides the travel
insurance program for industry professionals and retirees.
Insurance -- when purchased or upgraded -- is priced based on an
annual fee, determined by levels of coverage and numbers of
travelers protected, and covers an unlimited number of trips in a
12-month period.
Also, as part of UATP's marketing partnership with Iatan, Iatan
cardholders have access to UATP's PassengerAid, the 24-hour,
worldwide emergency assistance program offering free referrals for
medical, dental and legal consultation.
Finally, UATP is offering a new option: the Automated Teller
Machine (ATM) Protector, which provides coverage for loss of cash
for up to two hours after an ATM transaction. This coverage is
available for $12 a year.
For more information, Iatan cardholders can visit www.iatan.org and view
document #135 or visit www.uatp.com/iatan.
Through an agreement with IATA, the same UATP programs are
available to agents holding IATA cards in Canada, with information
available at www.iata.org/idcard.
