Sabre has severed its distribution agreement with Russian carrier Aeroflot and is taking immediate steps to remove Aeroflot's content from its GDS.

Also, Amadeus on Thursday said it has begun suspending the distribution of Aeroflot fares in its systems. Travelport said it has "taken the decision to immediately suspend Aeroflot sales from the platform."

Sabre CEO Sean Menke said, "We are taking a stand against this military conflict. We are complying, and will continue to comply, with sanctions against Russia."

Sabre also said it would consider "additional actions" if necessary as the situation evolves, "taking into account legal considerations and any countermeasures that could be implemented in response."

Sabre has a separate agreement to provide its SabreSonic passenger service system for Aeroflot. That deal is currently intact.

Sabre said it has around 1,500 employees in Poland and has donated $1 million to the Polish Red Cross. The funds will be used to purchase supplies for refugees.
