The Bermuda Tourism Authority has appointed Charles Jeffers as CEO.

Jeffers was hired through a global search to fill the leadership role following Kevin Dallas' departure from the post in February 2020.

Glenn Jones had assumed the interim CEO role while the permanent post was vacant.

A Bermudian by birth, Jeffers formerly was COO at VisitBaltimore, the official destination management organization for Baltimore, Md., which in 2019 welcomed 27 million visitors, generating $6 billion in economic impact.

Prior to his role in Baltimore, Jeffers served as COO for Destinations International, a global trade association for destination organizations such as the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

He also served in various roles within the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau.

One of his earliest jobs was working in the Newport Room at the Southampton Princess in Bermuda.

"My career journey has now come full circle," he said. "It is an honor to return home after nearly 30 years to lead the organization in an industry I have a lot of passion for."
