A flurry of reopenings across several islands heralds the coming peak travel season in the Caribbean. Hotels and villas are readying their properties for what they hope will be a lucrative, high-occupancy period following the months-long closures due to Covid-19.

Here are the latest reopenings:

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia, reopened on Halloween with themed activities, fireworks and a steak and lobster dinner with social distancing and the all-inclusive resort's Paradise Protection Protocols in place.

Ocean Club West and Ocean Club in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos reopened in late October. A new feature at each resort is to-go orders from three onsite restaurants with delivery to each suite. All units are equipped with a kitchen or kitchenette that can be stocked with groceries before a guest's arrival.

Eclipse at Half Moon, set on the grounds of the iconic Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, opened on Nov. 1 with 57 new accommodations, an infinity-edge pool, natural swimming cove and seven bars and restaurants.

Oil Nut Bay on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands will reopen on Dec. 1 with villa accommodations; a new Marina Village with overwater restaurant and bar and a 93-slip marina; a suspended pool with hammocks and daybeds; and a market and boutique.

Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana will reopen on Dec. 4 and Dreams Curacao on Dec. 1.

Secrets St. Martin, which first opened early last March and closed days later when the island was first hit by Covid-19, plans to reopen on Nov. 13.
