Nonstop service to Bonaire resumes on June 5, with American Airlines flying from Miami and Delta operating from Atlanta. Both carriers will offer roundtrip, twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The news comes as a response to a strong demand from U.S. visitors to visit the destination and from locals eagerly awaiting their arrival, according to Marjolein Oleana, business manager at Tourism Corporation Bonaire.

"We have used this time to focus on improving the destination's offerings," she said.
Entry protocols include a negative result from a PCR test done within 72 hours of departure and a new requirement of a negative antigen test result taken within 24 hours of departure. Bonaire has added the availability of rapid antigen testing at its Flamingo Airport to help travelers adhere to the new antigen test requirement.
For travelers heading back to the U.S., Bonaire offers three test facilities on the island.
The destination is launching an islandwide Bonaire Friendly Safety Seal program to certify local businesses that meet the required standards outlined in the official safety seal program, adding a level of confidence for visitors and locals alike.

To acquire the safety seal, a business must adhere to protocols and policies that include safety, health and cleaning programs, the completion of an in-depth questionnaire and an on-site inspection conducted by trained personnel. If approved, the business will receive the official gold seal to be displayed on site and showcased on TourismBonaire.com so that travelers can identify the qualified participants.
Businesses such as accommodations, casinos, car rentals, tour operators, watersports operators, taxis, restaurants, food trucks, retail shops and spas/salons are eligible for Bonaire Friendly Safety Seal certification.
"These measures ensure consistency in visitor experiences as we welcome travelers in a safe, responsible and organized way," Oleana said.
