Celestyal Cruises has canceled some of the earliest sailings in its Greece season as its two ships remain stalled in the Arabian Gulf amid the Iran war.

The Celestyal Discovery will not be sailing its scheduled March 20 and 23 Aegean Sea cruises, both of which were scheduled to depart from Athens. The Discovery is in Dubai, and all guests who had been onboard last week have disembarked.

Guests booked on the Greece cruises have the option of either a full refund or a future cruise credit.

A three-night itinerary departing from Athens is still scheduled to depart on March 27.

The cruise line's other ship, the Celestyal Journey, is in Doha, Qatar; the last of the guests on that ship's most recent sailing are expected to disembark in the next 24 hours. The Journey's next scheduled cruise is a Greece, Italy and Croatia sailing departing Athens on April 4.

Seasons cut short

Celestyal, MSC Cruises and Saudi Arabia-based Aroya Cruises have ended their Arabian Gulf seasons early.

As of Friday, MSC had organized air departures on seven flights to repatriate more than 1,500 guests from the MSC Euribia in Dubai. Some of the flights were MSC charters, some were commercial Emirates and Fly Dubai flights and some were government-organized flights.
