Diana Ross won't be godmother of Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas. The legendary singer has bowed out of the honor.

Royal Caribbean had announced Ross as godmother in June, but the line on Thursday said, "We are disappointed that Diana Ross is unable to join us to be godmother of Star of the Seas."

The ship's christening is scheduled for Aug. 20, and a new godmother will be announced soon.

The Star of the Seas is the cruise line's second Icon-class ship and will sail from Port Canaveral.
