Four pickleball courts for Holland America Line guests are part of a series of refreshes to Carnival Corp.'s RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay private island in the Bahamas.

Half Moon Cay also has new cabanas and day beds and 500 additional beach chairs.

There will be new clamshell loungers added this month, renovations to the two-story villas throughout the winter and a new food pavilion completed for the summer season.

Pickleball is one of the most popular activities on Holland America Line ships, said HAL's senior vice president of guest experience and product development Michael Smith.

Holland America Line inaugurated the new courts with a tournament for Rotterdam and Eurodam guests on Dec. 6.

Carnival Corp. rebranded Half Moon Cay a year ago, adding "RelaxAway" to the name and revealing that one end of the island will be for Holland America Line guests, the other for Carnival Cruise Line guests.
