There are apps that warn you about delayed flights and congested highways and apps that will find alternate ways to get to your destination. But what if you are well and truly stuck? Now there's an app for that, too.

Thanks to Building America's Future, a coalition for infrastructure development that includes the U.S. Travel Association, travelers stuck in traffic jams, crowded airports, stalled subway cars or late trains can write their congressmen on the spot.

The free I'm Stuck app, available for Apple and Android devices, enables the user to click on the appropriate icon (traffic jam, subway delay, plane delay, overcrowded transit, etc.) and fire off an email to the appropriate representatives in Congress, based on the user's ZIP code.

The preformatted messages state "I'm stuck" and offer variations on the suggestion that legislators work to ensure that "our transportation needs are fully funded."

One particular goal of the campaign is to keep money flowing into the Highway Trust Fund, which is going broke.

Building America's Future is co-chaired by former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Pennsylvania governor Edward Rendell.
