The Red Barn Farmstand recently announced the debut of a new monthly event series that will feature Hawaii's farmers and artisan products.

On Farmers and Friends Fridays, the venue will host a special lunch that showcases a particular farmer or artisan foodmaker. Diners will have the chance to meet the farmers and the other vendors, and learn about their work and process.

The lunches will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and  include a starter, main dish, dessert and drink for $25. During the summer the event also includes an afternoon barbecue that starts at 1 p.m., and live music running from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Red Barn Farmstand in Waialua is a partnership of Holoholo General Store and Twin Bridge Farms. They host cooking classes, farm tours and workshops featuring local farms and artisans.
