The oceanfront Four Seasons Resort Lanai, which reopened
after a major renovation this February, has been awarded AAA’s Five Diamond
designation.
Known previously as the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele
Bay, the property was closed for four months as work on a dramatic overhaul to
the pool area was completed last fall and winter. Work on renovations to each
of the property’s 217 guestrooms and public spaces began in 2014.
“We are humbled and honored to receive this designation and
strong vote of confidence while establishing a loyal following of guests for
this exciting destination,” Tom Roelens, the property’s general manager, said
in a statement. “The AAA Five Diamond Award is a true testament not only to the
incredible amenities our resort and the island of Lanai offer, but to our
first-rate team of employees.”
Oracle founder Larry Ellison purchased 98% of the island of
Lanai, and its two Four Seasons Resort properties, in 2012 for a reported $300
million.
