Due to public health concerns and restrictions on large gatherings related to the coronavirus pandemic, the Hawaii Farm State Fair has been canceled.
The annual event started in 1962 and typically attracts 15,000 attendees over two days, offering a taste of Hawaii's crops as well as demonstrations, entertainment, workshops and hands-on activities. The event was scheduled for July 11 and 12 at Kualoa Ranch.
"The annual Farm Fair was started in 1962 to promote public awareness of Hawaii's agricultural and ranching industry. Throughout its history, it has touched the lives of more than four generations of families," Brian Miyamoto, Hawaii Farm Bureau's executive director, said in a statement. "This event is the single most important vehicle for promoting the significance of agriculture to residents and visitors to Hawaii."
