Hawaii Forest and Trail has introduced a tour with a culinary twist, Flavors of Hawaii.
The tour takes visitors to farms selling some of Hawaii island's most coveted produce including behind-the-scenes looks at the Waimea Farmers Market; Kahi Ola Mau farm, home of the Honokaa Chocolate Co.; Mauna Kea Tea fields; and Honopua Farm.
Participants will learn some history along with how farmers choose their crops while discovering the secrets of growing cacao, vanilla and Hawaiian teas. The day-long tour concludes with a three-course meal and glass of wine at Pueo's Osteria in Waikoloa Village.
The tour starts at $275 per person (including tours, tastings, lunch and dinner) and departs from Hawaii Forest and Trail's Kona headquarters every Wednesday and Saturday with pickups in Waikoloa.
