Hawaii Volcanoes National Park hosts 37th Cultural Festival

|

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has booked July 8 for its Hawaiian Cultural Festival, which is celebrating its 37th year.

The interactive festival brings to life authentic Hawaiian cultural practices and traditions, and demonstrates the deep connection to the land exhibited by native Hawaiians. There will be live hula and music performances, and crafts demonstrations.

The festival also includes the "BioBlitz," a hands-on chance to join scientists and other experts as they guide visitors through the park, taking questions and pointing out various flora and fauna.

Those who are interested in participating in BioBlitz field inventories with researchers can sign up through Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

The festival is free, and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 8.
