Herringbone, a seafood-focused restaurant from Hakkasan Group and chef Brian Malarkey of "Top Chef" fame, is scheduled to open in Honolulu on Aug. 2.
The restaurant is located in the International Market Place and is already taking reservations. The design of the Waikiki outpost is inspired by its sister La Jolla restaurant, with weathered wooden boxes full of plants and herbs, and an ivy canopy over the 2,000-square-foot patio.
The menu highlights fresh local fish and is led by chef Chad Horton, who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants and trained under renowned chefs such as French restaurateur Alain Ducasse and James Beard Award winner Joachim Splichal.
"We've had an amazing time exploring Oahu which has been our inspiration in putting together the menu for Herringbone Waikiki," Horton said in a release. "We want this restaurant to be a place where people can gather together to enjoy good food in great company."
The menu includes the Herringbone staple Salt & Brine raw bar featuring Kualoa Ranch oysters, octopus, Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab and signature seafood towers available in three sizes, a fish ceviche made with fresh local catch, and a mushroom carbonara with udon noodles.
