ABC Stores, the ubiquitous Hawaiian convenience store chain, is planning a new food and beverage project that will go into the Hyatt Centric Waikiki.
Dukes Lane Market & Eatery is scheduled to open this summer, according to a release. The store will occupy a portion of the ground floor of the hotel, which opened in January, on Kuhio Avenue.
The concept includes a burger bar; a poke, rice and raw bar; a to-go food area; a drink bar featuring coffee, bubble tea and gelato; a bakery; and a flatbread station.
A 150-seat restaurant, dubbed Basalt, will at the center of the marketplace, and will highlight a variety of dishes made with ingredients from local purveyors, such as Hirabara Farms, Mao Farms, Mohala Farms and Nalo Farms.
"Dukes Lane Market & Eatery is the result of years of planning and development, evolving our company from its beginnings as a chain of 'convenience' retail outlets to one that now also provides a culinary experience," Paul Kosasa, president and CEO of ABC Stores, said in a statement announcing the venture. "Our commitment to local products and suppliers will be an important focus of the experience. Shoppers will find local vendors like Il Gelato, Teapresso, as well as freshly brewed coffee from our very own brand, Island Gourmet Coffee."
The marketplace is scheduled to be open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight.
