The Grand Wailea, a luxury property from Waldorf Astoria on Maui, announced that Allan C. Federer will take the post of managing director on July 24.

Federer has worked in the hospitality industry for three decades, previously working in management at Fairmont Raffles Hotels' Hamilton Princess & Beach Club in Bermuda, and at Ritz-Carlton properties in Moscow, Dubai, Ireland, Singapore, Istanbul and Montreal.

Federer, a native of Canada who started his career with Fairmont Hotels, will oversee all operations at the 40-acre, 776-room Grand Wailea.

"We are delighted to welcome Allan to our team here in Hawaii," Jerry Gibson, Hilton Hawaii area vice president, said in a release. "He has done an exemplary job leading numerous upscale hotels and resorts; we look forward to his taking the helm at Grand Wailea."
