Work on a multimillion-dollar renovation and rebranding is scheduled to finish up May 1 at Joie de Vivre’s second Hawaii property, the Shoreline Hotel in Waikiki.
Formerly the Seaside Hotel Waikiki, owned by United Airlines, the 135-room property has remained open during the renovation but officially relaunched as a Joie de Vivre boutique April 2.
“Shoreline brings a truly boutique and fresh hotel product to the Hawaiian market,” said Niki Leondakis, CEO of Commune Hotels & Resorts, Joie de Vivre’s parent company. “The carefree spirit and warmth of the Joie de Vivre brand is reflected in the property, which marries daring design, individualized services and amenities in one of the world’s most coveted beach destinations.”
Featuring free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, private lanais, microwaves and mini fridges, the Shoreline Hotel’s guestrooms have been renovated with a design inspired by 1970s architecture and modernism, while the property’s top floors house four suites with views of both the ocean and Waikiki skyline.
Joie de Vivre entered the Hawaii market with the Coconut Waikiki Hotel in June 2012.
