Fairmont Hotels has launched a travel collection that builds on the growing demand by luxury travelers for all things private, from air travel to their in-destination experiences.
The Origin of Spirits consists of three customizable private jet trips that focus on the history of rum, gin and tequila and are being offered in partnership with AirSprint Private Aviation, based in Canada.
The packages, available through the end of the year, are the latest example of luxury hotel companies not only launching or partnering with private jet companies but also expanding their offerings far beyond accommodations.
For example, the Ultimate Rum Run explores the rum cultures of Barbados and Bermuda. The package for eight guests starts at $185,000, based on double occupancy, and features stays in luxury suites at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and Fairmont Southampton. Highlights include a private tour of rum producer St. Nicholas Abbey; a chef's tasting dinner at the 330-year-old Waterlot Inn, hand-paired by the master distillers at Goslings with Goslings Papa Seal; a blending session with a master mixologist; an island "rum runner" scavenger hunt by Twizy electric minicar; and a private, chartered catamaran cruise with onboard chef and rum tastings.
The Perfect G&T (Gin & Travel) takes guests to London and into the English countryside to explore gin's past and present. Starting at $225,000 for six, the trip includes river view suites at the Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, a vintage gin tasting in the hotel's world-renowned American Bar, gin-infused baking master class with the Savoy's famed pastry chefs, three-course chef's tasting dinner with gin pairings in the Grand Divan at Simpson's in the Strand, afternoon tea in the Savoy's Thames Foyer and a master class and behind-the-scenes experiences at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Whitchurch, about 70 miles southwest of London.
The Tequila 'N' Take-Off starts at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona and includes a private tequila pairing dinner hosted by celebrity chef Richard Sandoval as well as a trip into the Jalisco highlands region of Mexico to meet the personalities behind some of the world's most renowned tequila. The trip then goes to the Fairmont Mayakoba, where guests will have a four- chef, four-course dinner paired by a master distiller; a full-day aboard a VanDutch yacht with onboard chef and tequila tastings; and tequila-infused treatments at Fairmont Mayakoba's Willow Stream Spa. Pricing for six guests starts at $320,000, based on double occupancy.
The packages all include flights on one of AirSprint's Embraer Legacy 450s , which can accommodate up to eight passengers.
