Travel events company This is Beyond has been sold to Emerald Holdings.
This is Beyond's events are Pure Life Experiences, L.E/Miami, We are Africa (Cape Town and Sundance), Further East, Do Not Disturb and Specialists in Entertainment Travel. Its shows are characterized by trend-spotting, over-the-top parties, sustainability efforts and a sometimes-edgy atmosphere in its venues, where one-to-one appointments are scheduled between travel advisors and suppliers.
The face of the show and its creative spark, co-founder Serge Dive, had previously launched the International Luxury Travel Market in 2002. ILTM is now owned by RX Global.
Dive has agreed to stay on with Emerald once the sale closes. "I remain fully committed to This is Beyond and ensuring that our mission, values and spirit continue to thrive," he said.
Emerald Holdings is a large U.S.-based business-to-business events company.
Commenting on the acquisition, Emerald CEO Herve Sedky said, "Expanding into the luxury and experiential travel sectors aligns with our strategy of portfolio optimization and improving Emerald's top-line growth."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
