Oasis Hotels & Resorts, a staple in Cancun and the Riviera Maya for years, is shaking things up with a resort-within-a-resort concept at two of its properties.
The new concept bears the name Sian Ka'an, which means "where the sky begins" in Mayan, and has been unveiled at Oasis' Grand Tulum and Grand Sens resorts.
Between the two resorts, there will be more than 160 luxury accommodations. The exclusive room categories will have upgraded benefits and amenities, like a private terrace with a plunge pool or in-room whirlpool, a personal concierge and butler, L'Occitane bathroom products, a minibar that's restocked daily, 24-hour room service, unlimited WiFi and access to a private beach club. At the beach club, guests have access to Balinese beds, butler service, exclusive bars, dining and more.
At Grand Tulum, guests can check into 76 new Sian Ka'an rooms and suites. Other amenities include the newly built Sensoria Spa, as well as the exclusive Sensoria Champagne Bar. As part of the adults-only experience, facilities include a private beach club, pool area, bars and four restaurants. Exclusive to the Sian Ka'an guests are Cocoa Oyster Bar, Careyes for gourmet Mexican and French fusion and Cafe Del Mar for casual, light cuisine. For bars and nightlife there is Martini Piano Bar, Sensoria Champagne Bar, Havana Cigar Bar and the Sian Ka'an Bar. Not only that, guests at the Sian Ka'an will be able to dine at any of the nine restaurants at neighboring Grand Oasis Tulum.
At Cancun's Grand Sens, the new Sian Ka'an is designed specifically for adventurous and free-spirited couples. Ninety rooms and suites are available for the 21-and-older crowd. Exclusive to Sian Ka'an guests is Benazuza, a molecular gastronomy restaurant; Black Hole, which is a blind tasting, dark dining experience; Careyes, for gourmet Mexican-French fusion; and Cafe Del Mar. For nightlife, Sian Ka'an guests can access VIP Lounge for cocktails and top-shelf drinks.
Nicknamed "The Pleasure Resort," The Sian Ka'an at Grand Sens has its own menu of adults-only entertainment. There is the topless-optional Hidden Pool, which Oasis describes as a pool "without restrictions." There's also Central Stage, which has three different atmospheres: chilled out, party and live music/night show. For after hours, guests can visit Kinky, the cabaret nightclub.
