Los Cabos has teamed up with Intertek Cristal, a global health, safety, quality and security risk management business, to add an extra level of assurance to travelers visiting the destination during the pandemic.
Part of Los Cabos' "A Safer Way to Get Away" effort, the partnership aims to enhance health and safety standards using Intertek Cristal's Protek Destination Assurance program.
Los Cabos has its own destination-wide guidelines and certifications to promote the well-being of visitors, but it now will add Intertek's Protek solutions for health and safety. Intertek will conduct audits to address health and safety measures and needs, and it will monitor the response to communicable infections.
Certification will be earned through hands-on training sessions, bi-monthly auditing and swab tests on key surfaces in public common areas. It will be implemented across all tourism areas, including hotels, restaurants and retail outlets.
Los Cabos is the first destination in Mexico to work with Intertek Cristal in implementing its Destination Assurance program.
