After months of silence, it appears Mexico's tourism promotion platform is back up and running, thanks to private-sector funding.

Mexico News Daily reported that the Visit Mexico website was relaunched during a ceremony in La Paz on Aug. 27. Visit Mexico's Facebook and Twitter accounts, too, silent since January, were also active as of Aug. 27.

Over the next five years, Visit Mexico will receive $90 million in private funds from Google, Discovery Channel and Grupo Posadas, according to the Mexico News Daily report.

In February, officials with the Mexico Tourism Board confirmed that the Mexican government was shutting down the board and diverting the funds to the construction of a tourist rail line.
