A New Mexican food and art festival, the Market of Arts & Gastronomy (MAG) will launch this July 13 in San Miguel de Allende.

Hotel Matilda and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende are the four-day festival's lead sponsors and organizers. Expected to become an annual event, MAG will bring together an array of high-profile chefs, hotels, restaurants, food and spirits companies, wineries, artists, and others.

Dozens of events are planned for the initial festival, starting with a kickoff dinner in Moxi at Hotel Matilda with Mexican chef Enrique Olvera.

Other activities attendees can look forward to are the Petit Comite Culinary & Art Events, intimate dinners and luncheons held at restaurants and locations around historic San Miguel with noted chefs cooking and artists exhibiting their works. Dinners will range from 40 guests to 120.

A Marche - a grand market of gastronomy, beverages, and art in Parque Juarez - will have more than 120 booths with restaurants serving up their best dishes, tequila tastings, spirits, beers, wines and cheeses, and an art tunnel with art performances and art exhibitors.

Other special events will include a Mixology Room, tequila, mezcal and beer tastings, a Casa Cuervo After Party, and more.

Both all-inclusive or individual event tickets will be available for MAG, ranging from $50 to $150. Tickets may be purchased on Ticketmaster or the MAG website.
