Travel Weekly is launching "ReThinking Tourism," a series of video opinion columns by industry consultant and speaker Doug Lansky.

Lansky is known for his strong opinions about ways the travel industry can become better and stronger, and for presenting his critiques, insights and proposed solutions in entertaining and informative ways.
The launch video, "The Biggest Problem with Tourism," explores the way the industry markets itself and how, by adjusting its messaging, the travel experience itself can be improved. If we want better tourism, he believes, we need new mechanisms in place.
"Don't expect Doug to be just another talking head -- his visuals and soundtracks are as fast-moving and witty as his commentary," said Travel Weekly editor in chief Arnie Weissmann.
"We're pleased to add Doug's voice to the chorus of regular columnists, which include Richard Turen, Nadia "Sparkle" Henry, destination experts and our staff editors," Weissmann said.
