Britney Spears showed that a Las Vegas residency from a pop artist who came to fame the '90s could be successful, and now the Backstreet Boys are ready to bring their reunion act to the Strip.
The residency, dubbed "Backstreet Boys: Larger than Life," will open March 1 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino's Axis theater.
The Backstreet Boys -- Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson -- have performed together, off and on, for more than two decades. In 2013 the group released its eighth studio album, "In A World Like This," and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The tour for "In a World Like This" ran from 2013 to 2015. The group is working on its next album, scheduled for release later this year, and the show promises to be a mix of past hits and newer material.
"What can you expect? If you've ever been to a Backstreet Boys show it's going to be that on steroids," Littrell said in a statement announcing the residency.
The group currently has numerous dates booked between March 1 and July 1. Tickets went on sale last weekend; prices start at $39, and shows begin at 9 p.m. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale at ticketmaster.com/backstreetboys.
