The Villages has long been known as a residential community for the 55-plus set in Wildwood, Fla., but now it soon will be home to a 151-unit hotel called the Brownwood Hotel & Spa. The property, a little less than an hour's drive northwest of the theme parks of Orlando, is slated to open in early 2020; reservations are now being accepted for stays beginning April 1.
The 215,000-square-foot hotel will feature a mix of guestrooms and suites, starting at $229 per night. The "dry" spa will offer standard spa services like massages and facials but also medically geared treatments by licensed professionals to target common ailments of age.
Wolfgang Puck Kitchen + Bar will anchor the hotel as the signature dining experience, with indoor and outdoor seating for 150 diners. The restaurant will also offer two private dining rooms and a semiprivate outdoor space.
