For guests who might need a little help disconnecting from technology during their getaway, two Clearwater Beach hotels are offering the opportunity for a digital detox.
The Tech-Free Treasure Chest promotion at family-friendly Sandpearl Resort will provide a custom box for everyone to put their devices so they can enjoy a tech-free meal at the restaurant. For participating, guests will be treated to free dessert for the table.
Just down the beach, the spa at the Opal Sands Resort is offering a series of Social Addiction treatments that are specifically designed to treat ailments caused by excessive technology use. Guests can choose from three 25-minute treatments: chair massage to treat neck hyperextension, hand reflexology for typing pain or scalp massage to treat headaches from eye strain.
The Opal Sands is also offering a new Sensory Overload amenity, which includes a pair of Jabra Elite 85h Noise-Canceling Headphones (or earplugs, if the guest prefers), a set of Earth Luxe essential oils including lavender, peppermint, tea tree and eucalyptus and an Ugg-branded travel set with sleep mask. The amenity costs $106 for the version with earplugs and $532 for the luxury version with the noise-canceling headphones.
