If you tuned into MTV in the late 1990s, you likely remember Tom Green, the crude comedian with his own sketch show who once humped a dead moose, starred in "Freddy Got Fingered" and was responsible for the "Bum Bum Song."

Nearly 20 years later, after a well-publicized experience with testicular cancer, Green has returned to the spotlight and his roots with a standup comedy show that's toured Europe and recently found a new home on the Strip.

The Tom Green Show opened in the Back Room at Bally's Las Vegas Oct. 29, with the Canadian performer covering subjects ranging from the dangers of technology to cancer, aging without kids and Donald Trump.

Don't expect any roadkill antics. Green's sick of being known as a shock comic. "It bothers me when people say 'shock comic' or 'gross-out' because that was only one type of comedy I did. There was prank comedy. Man-on-the-street-reaction comedy. Visually surreal comedy. But you do something shocking and that becomes your label," Green told The Guardian this summer.

The goal for his standup, he added, is to keep the material entertaining for people across the political spectrum. "If it's negative and hostile for half the audience, then not only is that half not laughing, they're not even listening."

Green will share the Back Room with The Miss Behave Show, playing Sunday through Wednesday at 10 p.m., with an additional midnight show on Sundays. Tickets, starting at $39, are available now.
