Guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort and at other eligible hotels were able to access the parks earlier with the Early Theme Park Entry perk. They could enter the Magic Kingdom at 8 a.m.; Epcot, 9 a.m.; Disney's Hollywood Studios, 10 a.m.; and Disney's Animal Kingdom, 11 a.m.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom, was still scheduled for Friday evening. The event, Disney said, is sold out.

Elsewhere on property, Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course was expected to open Friday at 3 p.m. Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fairways Miniature Golf remain closed.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon waterpark remains temporarily closed and is expected to open on Sunday, Oct. 2. Blizzard Beach is closed for the season.

Affected multiday tickets will be extended

Disney said that any multiday theme park tickets whose validity window was impacted by the hurricane will be automatically extended, and unused ticket days can be used through Sept. 30, 2023.

Universal Orlando Resort said it planned to open portions of its campus today, Friday, for hotel guests only. Its hotels remain operational.

Universal also warned that the Universal Orlando Resort Guest Contact Center was "experiencing higher than expected wait times" and encouraged those with travel plans after Sept. 30 to call at a later date.

On Friday, Universal said Volcano Bay has already reopened for all guests, and the Halloween Horror Nights event scheduled for Friday evening will open at 5 p.m. for guests who already have tickets.

Universal's theme parks are planned to reopen to all guests on Saturday, Oct. 1.
