If you were drafting a pop music dream team a la playground dodgeball, you might include Cher, Lionel Richie, Bruno Mars and the Backstreet Boys. Perhaps Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Ricky Martin would make the squad, too. And now the Strip's varsity lineup of resident artists is adding a new star, known for her bleached blond hair and crimson lips, whose musical career has spanned decades and taken her from ska punk princess to pop diva: Gwen Stefani.
Announced last month, "Gwen Stefani — Just a Girl" will open inside Planet Hollywood's Zappos Theater on June 27. Designed explicitly for the Strip, the show will be a greatest-hits celebration of Stefani's long career, beginning with the band No Doubt in the late '80s and stretching through more recent solo albums.
Caesars Entertainment celebrated the announcement by welcoming Stefani to Las Vegas on April 16 with an all-girl drum line from local Foothill High School and a crew of dancers, skaters and cheerleaders performing to a medley of her songs.
Tickets for the initial 25-show run through March 2019 are on sale now starting at $59. For more information, visit caesars.com/planet-hollywood/shows/gwen-stefani
