It's a classic tale of local boy makes good, only this local boy is comedian and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and making good means opening up a two-story comedy club on the Las Vegas Strip.

Kimmel, who grew up in Las Vegas, is now the host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on ABC. Next spring, he'll partner with Caesars Entertainment to open Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club at the Linq Promenade, an 8,000-square-foot venue with shows seven nights a week and seating for 300.

"Building a club like this in my hometown is a dream come true," said Kimmel via press release. "I've done extensive research, consulting with veteran comics to create the ideal venue for comedians and comedy lovers. My aim is to capture the spirit of classic Vegas with late night shows, surprise guests, live music, memorabilia from my career and food that will rival the finest restaurants in town."

When the club opens in 2019 it won't be the only celebrity-driven comedy spot in town. Brad Garrett opened his own comedy club at MGM Grand in 2012, and other name-brand comics like Eddie Griffin and George Wallace have resident bookings in Las Vegas.

Kimmel has vowed to make his new club a favorite spot for visiting performers. "Every comic who plays this club will get first-class treatment. I am obsessing over every detail to make this the most comedy-friendly club in the world."
