Visitor volume to Las Vegas was greater in July than June but still off by 61% from July 2019, primarily due to the continued absence of conventions and meetings in the city.

About 1.4 million visited Las Vegas in July, according to the latest statistics from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. That's about 300,000 more than had visited in June as hotel-casinos gradually reopened.

Weekend occupancy in July was 54.4%, and midweek occupancy was 36.9%. Average daily room rates among open properties reached $104.39, down 17.8% from last year.  A number of resorts are offering midweek deals through the end of the year in hopes of raising those numbers between the weekends.

At McCarran Airport, there were 1.6 million passengers in July, up from a little more than a million in June but a 64% drop from July 2019. There were only 5,371 international arriving or departing passengers, down 98.4% from July 2019.
