Another year, another visitation record for Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, 42.9 million people visited the city in 2016, setting a high for the third consecutive year. That figure is up from the 42.3 million people who arrived in Las Vegas in 2015.

Vegas also received a record 6.3 million business travelers in 2016, their ranks contributing to the city's reputation as the top meetings destination in the country and to the high occupancy rates among the roughly 150,000 local hotel rooms.

Looking forward, the LVCVA is already predicting another record-breaking year and projecting visitation to Las Vegas to surpass the 43-million visitor mark in 2017.
