Marathon, in the Florida Keys, is slated to get its first luxury beach resort in early 2019, Isla Bella Beach Resort. Pritam Singh & The Singh Company, which also developed the Ocean's Edge Resort on Stock Island, is developing the project.
The 199-room resort is set on 24 beachfront acres. The resort will be the largest newly built private waterfront resort in the Keys, and will also be the first newbuild since Hurricane Irma impacted the area in September 2017.
"Over the past 30 years, I've had the privilege to help shape the hospitality landscape of the Florida Keys and am excited and honored by the opportunity to bring an experience like Isla Bella to the middle Keys," said Pritam Singh in a press release.
In addition to the guestrooms, Isla Bella Beach Resort will feature a 4,000-square-foot full-service spa with six treatment rooms, four food and beverage concepts including a beach bar and burger spot, five swimming pools and 24,000 square feet of meeting space. Il Postino, the hotel's signature restaurant, will be an Neapolitan-style Italian restaurant featuring wood-fired pizza and fresh pastas. Other on-property amenities include on-site water sports rentals, a fishing pier and marina. All rooms will include views of the Atlantic Ocean.
