MGM Grand is growing its Conference Center.

On June 20, the resort broke ground on a $130 million expansion that will connect to the existing meetings space across three levels and add 250,000 square feet, bringing the total square footage of the MGM Grand Conference Center to 850,000 square feet.

As part of the construction, MGM will also add 22,000 square feet to its Stay Well Meetings product, "the industry's first-ever wellness meetings experience." When the project is completed by the end of 2018, Stay Well Meetings will cover the conference center's entire second floor.

The newly built facilities will include a 5,500-square-foot outdoor courtyard for private events, a 49,000-square-foot ballroom, a 32,000-square-foot ballroom as well as smaller ballrooms and breakout rooms.

According to the property, the project is in response to customer demand for extended meetings space.

"The Conference Center expansion allows us to grow with the needs of our clients and drive new and expanded business to Las Vegas," said Ernest Stovall, vice president of sales for MGM Grand.
