McCarran Airport in Las Vegas launched a public awareness campaign on May 20 to educate passengers about measures they can take to keep safe and to highlight the airport's efforts to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Called "LAS All In," the campaign features gaming-themed messages such as "Always Split Aces: Stay 6 Feet Apart!" and "We're Doubling Down on Cleaning and Sanitizing." Audio messages and signs throughout the airport convey the messages. The airport's website and social media channels also showcase the campaign.
"We understand that the airport and travel experience is going to be different from what people experienced before the Covid-19 outbreak, whether you're a seasoned traveler or an infrequent flyer," said Rosemary Vassiliadis, Clark County director of aviation. "This campaign will help passengers understand the changes they will see at McCarran and instill the confidence to feel they can still travel in a safe and healthy way."
McCarran is using hospital-grade products on all high-touch surfaces; increasing the availability of hand sanitizer; and encouraging social distancing. Using online check-in, mobile or print-at-home boarding passes, self-serve kiosks and traveling with minimal baggage are encouraged to reduce the number of person-to-person interactions. The airport suggests that only ticketed passengers enter the terminals.
