On Feb. 16, MGM Resorts International announced a multiyear deal with Microsoft Corp. to host the latter's corporate meeting in Las Vegas. The agreement combines four separate Microsoft events into a single, annual meeting with a potential attendance of up to 30,000 visitors.
The new event will become MGM's largest single-corporation meeting when it launches in July and is expected to rival other large corporate groups that hold annual meetings in the city.
"With this contract, MGM Resorts is poised to deliver our third record-breaking meetings and conventions year in a row," said Michael Dominguez, senior vice president and chief sales officer for MGM Resorts via press release.
Las Vegas recently received the 2016 title of top meetings and conventions destination from the World Travel Awards, the city's fourth consecutive win. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, more than 6.3 million people traveled to Las Vegas on business in 2016.
