New York City, Bermuda and Newport, Rhode Island, are
joining forces to promote sailing events in all three destinations.
They are calling the collaboration the "Bermuda
Triangle of sailing, luxury and lifestyle." Marketing will target luxury
travelers with premier sailing events in each location. Marketing initiatives
will include coordinated digital placements, social media, traditional public
relations, trip giveaways and other advertising.
"It only makes sense to unite with NYC & Company
and the Bermuda Tourism Authority as our three destinations share such
compelling and intertwined sailing histories, and most importantly, a vibrant
sailing future," said Evan Smith, CEO of Discover Newport.
This year's sailing races include the Argo Gold Cup in
Bermuda, May 6 to 11; SailGP Regatta in New York, June 21 and 22; and the 35th
Anniversary Newport Regatta at Sail in Newport, July 5 to 7.
