Visit Orlando recently announced that it welcomed 68 million visitors last year, a climb of nearly 2 million since 2015.

In appreciation for making it the No. 1 destination in the U.S., Orlando set out to thank its visitors and ended up setting the Guinness World Record for most greeting cards collected in 24 hours during a gathering of more than 900 members of the tourism community. The 3,144 hand-written thank you cards gathered from local attractions and hotels will be mailed to past visitors who have supported the destination.

"Orlando's visitation number represents the emotional connections we make with millions all over the world. The love they show us never ceases to inspire us and led us to launch a yearlong campaign around two important words: thank you," said George Aguel, president and CEO of Visit Orlando. The #OrlandosBIGThankYou campaign will run through the end of the year.

"Orlando and Orange County continue to be the No. 1 vacation destination in the nation, but this wouldn't be possible without the many millions of guests who choose to come here year after year for our world renowned attractions and entertainment options," said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.  "However, what truly makes their experience here better than any other community is our culture of hospitality combined with our frontline hospitality workers and welcoming residents."
