Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will host Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, 2024, the NFL announced this month.
The game was originally scheduled for New Orleans, but the recent lengthening of the NFL season to 17 games created a scheduling conflict for the Crescent City, which would be in the final days of its Mardi Gras celebration that weekend. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Las Vegas Raiders were invited by the league to collaborate on a bid to host the game.
"Being named a Super Bowl host city is a defining moment in the history of Las Vegas," said Steve Hill, CEO and president of the LVCVA. "An event of this magnitude combined with the energy of Las Vegas is going to be unmatched."
In 2022, Las Vegas will be hosting the NFL's Pro Bowl all-star game on Feb. 6 and the NFL draft April 28 to 30.
